Nancy Willis is an award winning journalist, writer, and communications professional with over 20 years in the business. She has been a staff reporter, bureau manager and photographer with Prince Edward Island’s major provincial daily newspaper (The Guardian). She is a freelance writer for numerous publications both national and international and is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC).
Willis is also a founding director of the Institute for Bioregional Studies, (IBS) a not for profit, charitable organization dedicated to environmental and social planning. IBS produces newsletters, organizes conferences, coordinates special interest tours, and hosts community forums and workshops.
She was also a director of the former New Alchemy Institute (an international research and demonstration institution specializing in alternative energy and biological agriculture, and aquaculture systems) which brought the world famous Ark Project to Prince Edward.
Willis is based in Prince Edward Island, and works nationally and internationally as well.
